I have that restless, dissatisfied feeling. I think I’ve spent enough time recuperating in Birmingham and am ready to face the world again. I’m ready to be back in Charlottesville with people of my own age and occupation. I like it here– I am, shockingly enough, not sick of my parents– but I’m missing certain stimuli (ehem).

In the mail, from derek: new Filling Station, ryan fitzpatrick’s “Lord, I’m Set to Cry,” and Sarah Cullen’s “Maps.” The latter two from derek’s tiny No Press. He does a good job with these. There are a lot of chapbook publishers in Canada and a wider acceptance of crazy visual poetry but to me, derek’s endeavors stand out.

From Michelle, her chapbook Daphnomancy. I consistently like Michelle’s work and feel lucky to have this, to know her. Reminds me too to give her something for WOMB.

From the kids at Bootstrap, donation money earmarked for OV and this interesting new collection.
