    Thanks for pointing this out. I really like ORNITHOLOGICAL BLOGPOEM too.

    The mostly short and always snappy sentences (there’s one that’s but four words long!) are like bird calls or bird song.

    I’ll trust that the birds in Elisa Gabbert’s poem are, as the poet writes, “especially fond of Wagner.”

    The birds I know flip for Messiaen. Especially the amazing almost chaotic layered bird song section in the opera Saint François d’Assise.
