Interior cover art by Tami Giordano; poetry by Susana Gardner, Erica Kaufman, Danielle Pafunda, and Sandra Beasley. A brilliant issue.
The sleeve design centers around a removeable domestic violence awareness + breast cancer awareness ribbon. In other words, this poetry magazine activates. Take it to the streets.
Special issue of Chicago Review on Kenneth Rexroth.
Now that Effing 5 is out, I’m finally ordering Anne Boyer’s book. I’m glad I’m not too late.

Congratulations on the latest 4Square.
And hoo-ray to Chicago Review
for the Rexroth section.
And here’s a little Rexroth poem, it’s on his grave marker actually, and it’s a kind of haiku-like thing that will be most apt on November 5th, for those who pay attention to the lunar phases:
As the full moon rises
The swan sings
In sleep
On the lake of the mind
wait wait wait… how do i get foursquare?
there might actually be a couple of extra copies of this issue. I’ll put you on the list along with Steve and Jill; it’ll be $5. after i send out the subscriber copies tomorrow i’ll post whether there are extra. i can’t do math. but i think there are 3-5 extra.
hmm, did i miss a foursquare? the last one i got had the blue-n-gold lady. is this the one after that?
hm shanna… yes, there was a hedgehog issue for september. don’t worry, i’ll figure it out.
I have a friend who has been coveting my foursquare and would probably jump on a spare issue. Her name is Shannon Smith, if you would add her to the list…
hey jess, there’s a waiting list, but i’ll add her to it if others refuse their copies.
i saw the art for the hedgehog one, now i remember it. (i hate my mailman.)
Stella was due on February 29th on a leap year (obviously) but came 9 days early! so while not on leap day she is a leap year baby…
wait wait, is this issue, Oct’s issue? is there a pic list of issues?
susana, i just mailed your copy of the sept issue a few days ago. i’m terrible at going to the post office for the international ones.
yes, this is oct’s issue.
shanna, don’t worry.
